POSTERS BY HAZE-XXL
Started making posters recently as an offshoot of the volume lino/wood cuts being cranked out. You can intellectualize their sloppy immediacy as a reaction to the decades long computerized sterility I worked on/with/in. Better yet, enjoy them for their straight up, untrained, retardist zeal in which they were intended. I've posted these before, all over the place, so I'm rounding 'em up. Viva La Retardism.
These are the screen printed versions, and NOT the actual hand pulled lino cut prints, which are usual printed in batches of 10 or less. The silk screen editions are usualy done in batches of 75-150.
Lino or Wood Cuts are thus. A board with linoleum glued to it, or just a plain board. You then cut & carve the desired image out of the linoleum backwards and in reverse (carving out white non print space). Then you roller ink on the board, place paper on it and roll, press the paper to transfer the image. Resulting in a lino cut print. Sometimes these are then scanned, add color seps and send to silk screen printer.
